Born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1973 Amy Delaine always had the entertainment bug in her from the start! It all started when Amy & her friends would perform in front of the family, on a makeshift stage, with bed sheets as curtains and a fake microphone. Amy then went onto Gymnastics, flute, drawing & art, dance class- ballet, jazzercise at 10 years old, swimming, ping pong & tennis and anything she could become fully active in! Amy has taken many directions in her career of entertainment to fulfill various ambitions & her creative ventures that started in 1986. Amy started modeling at 12 years old, and then went onto informal swimsuit modeling at major department stores in her teens, beauty pageants, then became head dancer of a rock music video downtown at age 17 and then decided to attend cosmetology school at age 18 to add to her enjoyment of the beauty & entertainment business.
At age 17 Amy took a 6 week trip to Vancouver BC Canada by herself to pursue modeling and there she met Stephen J. Cannell/ Cannell Films, Amy then starred in his production as the main dancer in a nightclub scene with lead actor Michael Dudikoff in the TV series "Cobra." Amy preceded to get more work while there and then returned home with great stories and experiences. Amy has had many, many exciting experiences throughout her career that will be highlighted in the near future.
Amy's schedule since then has been extremely busy with many artistic passionate endeavors that feed Amy's drive for inner peace and also sharing and meeting new amazing people along her path. Artistic passions have always been Amy's driving force since when she was a little girl calling New York Ford Models at age 9 and asking if she could come and visit and model with their agency. Of course height was a huge relevancy back then and Amy was too petite, but it sure was fun to share that with Mom and family, because everyone has always known Amy as being persistent & consistent with whatever she does, that's just who she is. Life is a process and Amy's focus is to enjoy every moment, rather than strive for what will become of that moment. To just see where things will take her and relax with the flow of life and her endeavors. Amy's quote stands to true to her values of passionate goals. "The only way for me to truly feel most comfortable in my skin, is through some form of artistic nature. There are so many forms I have applied and so many passions of mine."
Amy's drive for more fun has enabled her to be self taught in singing, voice over character artist, graphic design, web developing, beginning piano & photography (Amys great love!) Amy is MOST known for her character voices she does on a whim, Amy has been known to draw crowds in awe of her trans-formative characters. Amy uses her British Bernice character, then goes into Australian into her russian voice and then back into her voice within seconds. Amy has been doing character voices since she saw ET and YODA for the first time in the movies as a kid and Amy saw she had a natural something that was fun to draw upon to create humor in the midst of some times chaos we all go through in life at times. Amy's future goals have always remained the same with her voice overs, that she will have an opportunity to be a character in a major animated film. Amy has been so busy with her many endeavors, the position for that spot has never come to mind, "the opportunity will present itself when the time is right" Amy says, so until then...
Amy enjoys spending her free time with close family and friends, reading, doing yoga and learning chi gong, meditation, study of nutrition and healing modalities, going to the beach, singing, graphic design, web design, going to museums, photography, watching movies. Amy is also intrigued and highly interested in architecture, green homes, organic living & gardening along with sustainability for a healthier future for all of us. Amy continues in fighting for several great causes she believes in, including writing letters, making phone calls to our senate and ensuring positive change where it is needed in health & rights.
Amy's current ventures are taking her behind the scenes of the camera and production, where Amy feels really at home with her talents and passion. Fun tidbit: One of Amy's favorite movies is Confessions of a Shopaholic & she then realized her distant cousin is the main Production Designer of that movie and many other favorites! Her name is Kristi Zea - 2 time Oscar Nominated Production Designer. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0954034/ Excellent work Kristi! You are such an inspiration!
Funny Story: In 2008 Amy ordered a box of items from a major department store. The box is delivered by UPS that evening and Amy opens the box and sees an unidentified object in the box that looks strange. Amy asks her Manager/friend Bruce, what do you think of this? It makes me nervous, do you think it is possibly a bomb? Should I throw it in the garbage? Bruce replied no, I would contact the Fire Department. So Amy contacts the Fire Department, but instead one white van shows up outside and dressed in FBI uniforms they come to the door to view the strange object. They seem alerted, so the story gets even better. By the end of the night, the entire neighborhood is blocked off, at least 7 police cars, 2 bomb squad vans, news crew and yellow tape everywhere, and Amy is evacuated from her home, while the "incognito's" CSI Van investigates a potential bomb. Amy was sure her neighbors were going to have a hay day with this, wondering what the heck happened at their house? So in the end, the group all huddled together laughing jokingly, called Amy & Bruce to come back to the home and explained that this was accidentally thrown in from shipping, and it was a piece from a warehouse, maybe used for hanging up clothes or something. The police and investigators decided it looked identical to a bomb, so they asked if they could keep it for, BOMB SCHOOL TRAINING and for the Police Academy. Heck what a nerve racking experience, yet Amy thought later, we should have taped this for fun, what a great intro to a REALITY SHOW! LOL (Yes, this is a true & accurate story) Just one of many wild stories in Amy's life. More to come soon! So stay tuned. Don't want to overwhelm all of you, so one story at a time...tbd.
